Put pencil to paper with no idea what would happen and Rarity popped out. Can’t complain. It’s been AGES since I’ve shown her any love.
I didn’t give this one my 100% best effort. i just wanted to bust something out to keep my creative juices flowing and to work on something rather than black and white vectors of skulls or other crappy art that people want on intake covers. That kind of stuff eats away at the soul after a while.
Anyway here’s Rarity!
Had a lot of fun with this one. Took a while, but it was fun nonetheless. Still need some work on proper shading and form, but I’m happy with the way Chrissy turned out.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well the colors mixed and blended with each other in Manga Studio. They reacted almost like real paint would. Another plus is the program’s auto smoothing capabilities which makes doing line art a breeze and a joy to do.
Photoshop and Illustrator are still my primary goto for graphics, but I may start migrating over to Manga Studio for illustrations and artwork in general. I highly recommend it for artists on a budget. Unfortunately it’s not on sale anymore, but at a regular price of $50-ish, it’s stupidly affordable especially if you can catch it when it is on sale
